I remember vaguely the removal of transcripts, but I still don't know why it is so.

I really don't have enough time to watch a video or listen to the audio full through.

Reading the transcript was really really better for me. I could read it gradually over the course of the day and simply search for what I was looking for later as reference.

Is there a chance of bringing it back?

Yes, we had to suspend it because the transcription company was taking too long, like a week or so, and then I still have to review the transcript, typically twice the time of the recording because the transcript had many mistakes.

Maybe if I can find a better transcription company that does it faster with much less mistakes, we can resume it. It would also be better if we could find a sponsor to cover the costs because those companies charge much more.

I didn't realize you outsourced that. Okay. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope.

Oh, yes, transcribing is a pain. Better leave it for people that like to do it.

The problem is that most do it with some automated software to gain time and often they do not understand the words they are transcribing because often they are not really native English speakers, so they put something else that does no make sense.

So I have to listen and fix the mistakes, or else it would look very bad.

Lets see if I can find a sponsor to cover for the costs.

I really hope it will come back soon, I also have no time for watching/listening.

Perhaps, if you (@Manuel) would advertise it on the mailing list that "Hey guys, we could pay $X for one transcript" then maybe you could find someone. Maybe someone would do it just for the glory. I think it would be nice to give it a try. What do you think?

Well the problem is not just the cost but finding somebody competent to do it quickly so the review does not take so much time.

Usually making transcripts is boring, so I doubt that any developer here wants to do it.

Anyway, for now I included a transcript of the summary so you can read about the topics in the podcast very quickly. If you want to get more information about a specific topic, you can jump to the specific time position of the podcast mentioned in the contents of the podcast in the beginning.

I think it would worth to advert it in the jobs section of the weekly newsletter.

PHP transcripter is wanted. Required skills:
- PHP knowledge
- good English
- quick and reliable working style
May work from any location.

I think this is a typical work for a university student who has time, has the basic expertise and needs some money. At least, I would have loved such a job at that period of my life. :)

If we cut the whole text into 10-15 minute long parts then it could be finished by more student within a couple of hours. If one of them misses their deadline then the other one would finish it gladly.
